Easel Card - Amanda

The instructions below will show you what you need to make a 4”x4” easel card.
The measurements given can be altered to make larger cards if you wish.

This is the completed card - using Butterfly Spiral, by Karen

What do I need?

Amanda Easel 1

1 x  8”x4” piece of card stock in desired colour

1x  4”x4” piece of card stock in matching colour

1 piece of design paper cut to just under 4”x4” (we will be mounting this later so leave room for that)

1 piece of design paper measuring 4” x 2.5”

1 Butterfly Spiral image (this is a digi available here on the website)

1 Sentiment – Mine is a freebie from DewDrop craftz- found here

1 x 3”x3” piece of white card stock

Some silver miri card

The first thing you will need to do is colour your image. I chose to colour mine black and red to go with the design papers.

You then need to mount the image on to some silver miri card.

Now take the piece of design paper (slightly less than 4”x4”) and mount that on miri card also.

Once you have done this you can stick them on to the piece of 4”x4” card  as shown below. I always use double sided tape as it doesn’t make the paper bobble.

The next step is to take your 4”x8” piece of cardstock and score it at 2” and 4” as shown below.

You now need to then fold it as shown below

Now we will put double sided tape on the top fold – I have drawn an arrow to show you which part.

Now take your 4”x4” piece of cardstock with your image etc already on and stick it so that the bottom of the 4”x4” piece of card is flush with the bottom of the top fold – you should have the top half of the 4”x4” piece of card overhanging (not stuck down)

You can now stick down the smaller piece of design paper on to the bottom of the larger piece of card. Mount the sentiment on to miri card and stick this in the middle. You can then stick down two buttons where you want the card to rest. This is all shown in the picture above – sorry I am not the best at explaining things so hopefully the pictures will show you better than I can.

Once the glue has dried on the buttons you can rest the top of the card as shown.

When you want to post the card it will fold flat.

So.. we hope you enjoy the tutorial.. and would love to see what you make using it.
